A dear friend of mine, who lives in the forest of Valle de Bravo in Mexico, found this two hummingbirds last year in her garden. It is magical, the way in which these birds retained their natural form, their feathers and that feeling of life and movement.

Then, she asks me to make a very special jewel to be able to carry these "gifts of Mother Nature".

This is how this unique piece came to life, I made some sketches taking into account the shape of the birds and thinking how to place them gently on the neck.

First prototype it on paper and then on a large alpaca sheet.

I hung the figure with a jeweler's bow, then I made the hinge and hid it behind a beautiful orchid from one of my last collections while the bronze feathers had them in my collection of reserve foundries and they were welded to hug the body of the hummingbirds. After that, I took the whole piece to the powder paint oven.

Due to the organic nature of the birds, I was not allowed to weld the birds on the piece of metal. So I made a rivet (the only piece in the eyes) with blue zirconias to give the sensation of brightness and life in the eyes of the birds.

Una querida amiga mía, que vive en el bosque de Valle de Bravo en México, encontró este dos colibríes el año pasado en su jardín. Es mágica, la manera en que estos pajaritos conservaron su forma natural, sus plumas y esa sensación de vida y movimiento.

Entonces, ella me pide que haga una joya muy especial para poder llevar estos "regalos de la madre naturaleza".

Así es como esta pieza única cobró vida, hice algunos bocetos teniendo en cuenta la forma que tienen las aves y pensando cómo colocarlas gentilmente en el cuello.

Primero lo prototipe en papel y luego, en una gran hoja de alpaca.

cale la figura con un arco de joyero, luego fabriqué la bisagra y la escondí detrás de una hermosa orquídea de una de mis últimas colecciones mientras que las plumas de bronce las tenía en mi colección de fundiciones de reserva y fueron soldadas para que abrazaran el cuerpo de los colibríes. Después de eso, llevé toda la pieza al horno de pintura en polvo.

Debido a la naturaleza orgánica de las aves, no me estaba permitido soldar las aves en la pieza de metal. Así que hice un remache (la única pieza en los ojos) con circonias azules para dar la sensasiónde brillo y vida en los ojos de los pájaros.
